Hi all,
I want to let you know that the Davits stood up well to +20 knot winds and high seas crossing the gulf to Silva Bay and they are easy to use to hoist the dinghy up and down. My only regret was not installing them a lot sooner.

We are very happy with the BOB systems we purchased. Happily we did not have to deploy them underway on either of our offshore legs between Newport, Or and the Puget Sound.
It is a comfort to know we have a good option to retrieve crew as my wife and I sail by ourselves and occasionally encounter some challenging weather conditions.

Got the davits installed and did sea trial over the weekend. In one word... awesome! Here are a couple of pictures for your files. Ready for sea, and how we leave dinghy when at the doc for weather. We are also editing our installation movie. Davit installation for the amateur!

...we have had Ocean Marine Davits for years.
​
I have them on my Northeast 400 and had them on my Fisher 34 before that. Nothing but good. Never had a problem with his instructions, support, or especially functionality.

I just purchased and installed the same davits and radar post with a motor hoist. We bolted the bolts through cap rail and deck joint.
Attached to stern railing. They said in this configuration it was good for 300 lbs.
Also you can add removable supports tied to aft cleat up to each davit upright.
